Computational Intelligence
Society (2008-09)

Welcome to the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. This is your home for all computational and theoretical aspects of mimicking nature for problem solving. The core technologies within our scope include neural, fuzzy, and evolutionary computing, as well as hybrid intelligent systems that contain these and other related paradigms.

Within our society, you'll find many interesting activities. We hold several annual conferences, including major events such as the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence, the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, the IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation, and the IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence. We also sponsor many smaller symposia on focused topics, including swarm intelligence, games, bioinformatics and computational biology, developmental learning, and many others. Additionally, we publish several of the leading transactions in our field of interest, including the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, and most recently the forthcoming IEEE Transactions on Computational Intelligence and AI in Games.

As a member of our society, you receive many benefits. Student members can apply for travel grants when they have papers accepted at our conferences. Members from developing countries can also apply for similar grants. And all members receive the IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine, a quarterly publication that has already received recognition as an outstanding publication.

Our website provides links for many of our ongoing activities, including technical activities, publications, conferences, education, and member services. Please have a look around our web pages and learn more.

Our society depends on our members: You! And if you aren't a member already I encourage you to join us! Be a part of this exciting and growing field and help contribute to its success!
