Summer Schools (2011)

Due date: February 28, 2011

You are highly encouraged to submit a proposal to hold a summer school in Computational Intelligence during the summer of 2011. We encourage and support international and local attendance by allocating travel scholarships to attend those activities, teaching awards can be given to speakers, and we can dedicate part of the budget to support the institution that holds the school while helping to provide funding for inviting Distinguished Lecturers through the CIS DL Program.

We typically provide funding for 3 to 4 summer schools per year. This year, our sub-committee will select schools from the pool of applications following review procedures:

1. The quality of the proposed technical program and topic balance,

2. The length of the school (note that it is satisfactory to hold a longer term school, e.g. 2 weeks),

3. The geographical balance of all funded summer schools

Your proposal shall show the following:

1. Location, Date and Duration

2. Scientific objectives

3. Courses and lecturers

4. A tentative schedule

Please submit your proposal by February 28th, 2011 to the Summer Schools Sub-Committee Chair, Professor Jong-Hwan Kim, FIEEE (johkim@rit.kaist.ac.kr).

Who Can Apply for a Travel Scholarship?

Senior undergraduate students doing their thesis work, and Graduate students at a Master's or PhD program level can apply and might receive a travel scholarship from our CI society if they register and will attend the interesting CI summer school or CI courses.
